Day 1 of 30 Day Meditation Challenge

I just finished day 1 of my 30 Day Meditation Challenge. I sat through the 30 minute practice and it was a strange experience.

I sat in a cross-legged position on the floor and set my alarm to 30 minutes. I prefer silent meditation where I ease into relaxed breathing and then focus on the area at the intersection of both eyes and the top of the nose. This is where our Ajna chakra ( third eye / source of sixth sense or intuition) is located. One of my goals in this first round of 30 days is to see if I can awaken my Ajna Chakra.

Who would have thought that one needs so much self control to sit through 30 minutes of doing nothing. I went through a lot of thoughts intermittently, mostly about my day. I even fell asleep for 3-4 minutes. I read in multiple places that body tried to get what it craves for and it looks like I was sleep deprived. I tried my best to acknowledge when a thought appeared, sometimes the thought drags you with it.  Over the next 30 days, I will try not to be a fellow traveler of the thought but rather be a mute spectator in a railway station of thoughts where I see trains of thoughts moving through in front of me.
